Learn How to Speak Spanish

Posted by admin on June 11, 2008

Don’t even consider attempting to learn a foreign language unless your heart is in it - you will wasting your time. Even if you find it easy at first, do not become overconfident as at some point it will become tougher and you will not be prepared for it. When it comes to speaking Spanish there are many ways to learn how to speak it: for one, most colleges and universities offer Spanish language courses since they believe it is really helpful, which is true. There is no need for you to join a class with a large number of young people if you feel uncomfortable - just enrol in an adult language class. As per my understanding there are various crash courses, which are offered by school during summer breaks.

For people looking for a position where speaking Spanish is a requirement, some languages companies can arrange ‘crash’ courses and help with finding that job afterwards. In case you do not have any time, many bookshops sell dictionaries, which can also help you learn the language. There are also some self-help books where you’ll find a ready to use, complete Spanish sentences with their English translations at the bottom. There is the ever so trusted Internet where you can find loads of free tutorials on Google or yahoo. Fortunately, speaking Spanish is more about learning phonetically so it isn’t just about reading books on the subject Web casts and pod casts today help you listen to the language via the Internet and some sites even allow you to download it, so just type and you can learn.

Yet it is far simpler to learn a language if you listen to it so do not depend too much on books as there are plenty of materials for you to listen and watch, like songs, movies and tele-novels. Pictures are a great help since when you learn a Spanish word, you remember it better when you know what it appears like. If money and time permits, take off and visit the land where the language is spoken by every one. Once you get closer to the people, their culture and ethos, you would be speaking Spanish in the quickest possible way.

Just don’t pressure yourself as you often find the harder you try, the more you will end up getting frustrated. If you visit a Spanish speaking country, you would very naturally pick up the finer nuances of the language and speak like the Spaniards. Do not be embarrassed when you make mistakes as you are expected to make some howlers but then, you are a beginner trying hard to grasp a language. In fact, you can only learn the hard way when you make mistakes, so be carefree, and enjoy your learning process throwing caution to the winds.
